Woodland Theme Wedding Cakes
I have had so much fun looking for woodland inspired wedding cakes. There are so many talented cake designers available and it seems the only limit is ones imagination. Below is an example of a beautifully simple wedding cake with a single vine creeping up the side. Unfortunately, I have no idea who made this beauty.
This cake would be perfect for a Mid-Summer Night’s Dream wedding theme. It could be placed on a rustic wedding cake stand and surrounded by moss, ivy, petals, branches and flowers. I think a simple white cake works the best with a shot of colour as a contrast. Be that a striking flower or delicate climber plants such as jasmine, clematis or honeysuckle. I may consult my gardening books. This would be a great idea for being on a budget. Make or have made a simple white cake and decorate it with real flowers. For a twist, maybe even check which types of flower are edible (but be careful!)…
Googling woodland wedding cakes brings up lots of choice. However, many cakes are slightly over the top for my liking. Below are a few examples of woodland wedding cakes I have chosen. Most are simple with a subtle reference to nature and the outdoors. Hover over the thumbnails for photo credits.
